The MPU Tantular Museum is a national museum located in Buduran, Sidoarjo, East Java. Originally, it was named Stedelijk Historisch Museum Soerabaia, built by Godfried von Faber in the year 1933 and inaugurated in 25 July 1937. Today, the museum is handled by the Unit Pelaksana Teknis pada Departemen Kebudayaan dan Pariwisata.
As of 2021, the Mpu Tantular Museum collection reached 15,600 collections, which are classified into ten types of collections, namely: geological, biological, ethnographic, historical, numismatic, heraldic, fine arts, technological, ceramic and philological. Due to limited exhibition space, the museum only exhibits a small part of the entire collection. The remaining collections that are not exhibited are stored in the collection storage room. The collections exhibited in the permanent exhibition room consist of collections from prehistoric, Hindu-Buddhist, Islamic kingdoms, colonial and modern times, including the IPTEK (science and technology) collection.
